Melanie's focus is on developing brand and organizational strategies to build relevance across sectors; align fundraising, engagement, and programmatic efforts; and connect broader audiences in the organization’s collaborative, two-generational work to advance United Way’s role as community partner, funder, and convener.

Previously, she served as the head of marketing for the North Carolina Museum of Art. Melanie spent over a decade in advertising agencies, working on major brands including McDonald’s, Royal Caribbean and Pepsi.

In addition to supervising the annual workplace campaign, she leads an integrated marketing and engagement effort including: graphic design, strategic messaging, innovation, volunteerism, and community outreach.
