Farad Ali is the president and chief executive officer of The Institute of Minority Economic Development (“The Institute”). Ali has over 30 years of work experience as an entrepreneur, business executive, corporate banking officer, consultant, community volunteer and elected official. Ali has worked for three leading global financial institutions as a corporate banker, a commercial real estate banker and business / community banker. Additionally, he has been a financial and managerial consultant, leading a business development team that secured over $1 billion in financing and contracts for diverse businesses Ali serves on various national, state and local boards of directors. He earned an undergraduate degree with a concentration in finance from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Business Administration from Campbell University and post-graduate training for emerging business markets from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Ali is married, a father of four children and a dedicated community servant.
