United Way Presents: Triangle Time Machine
Step inside our time machine. It’s 2052 and Durham County’s move to implement universal basic income has entirely eradicated poverty for more than 46,000 people. Wake County’s one-year Annual Action Plan turned into a 30-year strategy that gave thousands of families the security of a safe and affordable home. Johnston County took a hard look at high school graduation rates and created an education pipeline for economically disadvantaged students that resulted in a 100% graduation rate each year. And not one to be outdone, Orange County’s 10-year-old food justice initiative has officially ensured that all 18,000+ individuals formerly experiencing food insecurity are thriving on enough nutritious food every day.
We dream of a future where everyone has access to the resources they need to thrive, not simply survive. The path to getting there is in the community’s hands. Are you coming along for the ride?
