Equity in housing means that everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable place to live. It’s going to take a justice approach to get there.

Equity in housing means that everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable place to live. In practice, it would mean that no one is homeless, that all homes are well cared for, and that no one suffers from the threats or consequences of eviction.

But many Triangle residents have the opposite experience. That’s where local nonprofit organizations like Community Empowerment Fund and Marian Cheek Jackson Center can play a part. With a justice-focused approach to housing and deep existing relationships with the communities they serve, their teams are leveling the playing field for residents in need by providing hands-on support with everything from vetting housing listings to saving properties at-risk of selling to developers and becoming overpriced for cash-strapped families.

Join us on Thursday, January 21 to learn more about what justice means for affordable housing and how you can help make an impact.
