Like so many people, Clara grew up with the reminder that “family is forever.” The house cleaning company that Clara works for has offered her additional shifts on the weekends and Clara’s neighbor has offered to watch Andy and Cassidy for free during those times. She could really use the extra money to help cover her unexpected bills but she decides it’s worth risking more financial instability in the future if it means she can create the family dynamics that her grandchildren need now.

Clara tells herself that she’ll find a way to make up that income in another way, maybe by selling her own mother’s jewelry.
