Taking classes on campus is a great option for Michelle because once she gets there, she can access food, diapers, and other basic necessities for her children. If Michelle chooses this option, her aunt has offered to watch the kids during the day and Michelle is grateful for the free help.

But the trip for school is 60 miles roundtrip and while her older car, which already has 120,000 miles on it, does get decent highway mileage, it’s still expensive (especially with gas prices rising).

It’ll work for now but Michelle is concerned about how long her 2006 Toyota Corolla will be able to withstand that many miles per week.
