Addie Moody Promoted to Chief Philanthropy Officer
United Way of the Greater Triangle is pleased to announce that Addie Moody has been promoted to Chief Philanthropy Officer. In this newly created position, Addie will focus on deepening the culture of philanthropy at United Way and on the direction and execution of the organization’s fundraising strategy. She will lead a six-person team to achieve ambitious fundraising goals and develop new strategic partnerships while simultaneously managing a personal portfolio of influential prospective donors. She is the sixth leader to join the organization’s Senior Leadership Team.
Addie most recently served as United Way of the Greater Triangle’s Director, Foundation & Individual Philanthropy where she developed a robust stewardship program for individual donors, grew new and diversified revenue through the execution of a grants and foundation funder strategy, and more. During her five-year tenure with United Way, Addie’s tireless work has raised more than $13M to support the organization’s mission to eradicate poverty and increase social mobility through the power of partnerships.
“Addie has played a crucial role in so many of United Way’s philanthropy and fundraising achievements over the last five years. But more than that, she understands that the work is rooted in the power of partnerships to drive community driven solutions,” said Eric Guckian, United Way of the Greater Triangle’s President & CEO. “She builds deep relationships and consistently delivers on our organizational promises. I’m thrilled to welcome her into this leadership position.”
Prior to joining United Way in 2018, Addie held fundraising positions at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, UNC Rex Healthcare, and the Girl Scouts (North Carolina Coastal Pines).
“During my time with the organization, United Way of the Greater Triangle has proven that it is uniquely positioned to connect donors to local, community-driven solutions that create lasting change,” Addie said. “I’m honored to accept this opportunity to support our mission and our team at this critical time and am proud to continue this work in the fight against poverty.”
