Food Truck Rodeo: Delicious Lunches for a Great Cause

FTR photo1On the second Wednesday of every month, United Way of the Greater Triangle brings together food trucks from across the Triangle area to 2000 Perimeter Park Drive for a rodeo. Each month features a variety of trucks highlighting some of the most interesting foods around. From spicy tacos and loaded mac-and-cheese to decadent crepes and scrumptious cupcakes, each rodeo brings unique flavors for every palate to Morrisville.

While you may have known about this event, did you know that the rodeo does more than bring delicious lunch monthly to Perimeter Park? It actually helps feed children in our community. Each month, food trucks attending the rodeo donate $35 to United Way of the Greater Triangle’s food programs. This is enough to provide one child with three weekends of meals, in partnership with Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s BackPack Buddies program. With 100,000 kids hungry in our area every day, the contributions of the rodeo participants are making a difference to end hunger in our community.

During the June rodeo, you can join the rodeo trucks in support of ending hunger in the Triangle area.

Help United Way of the Greater Triangle provide 1,000 weekend meal bags to children in the Triangle on June 20th by donating $10 at Your $10 will allow a child in our community to have three dinners, two breakfasts, and two lunches for a weekend. Join United Way and our area’s food trucks to tackle childhood hunger.

Planning to attend the rodeo? Join us Wednesday, June 11th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 2000 Perimeter Park Drive in Morrisville. Chick-N-Que, Porchetta, The Humble Pig, and JAM Ice Cream will be there to ensure that your lunch is a delicious experience.
