What United Way of the Greater Triangle Does

Our Purpose:

Real Solutions, Sparked by a Community United for Transformative Change

United Way of the Greater Triangle is a community partner and an innovative funder – one of the few in our area investing predominantly in collaboration among nonprofits. And it is improving lives.

Collaboration :

  • Works for vulnerable children and their families who are placed at the center of services to meet their needs today . . . and build toward future success.
  • Shifts how nonprofits use their funding.
  • Brings together partners across the four counties United Way serves to cultivate the next-generation educated workforce and vibrant ecosystem that makes the Triangle a great place to live and work.

We recognize we cannot create change alone.

Collaboration is a call-to-action for our community. Coming together, united, can change generations. Because when you change children’s circumstances, you can break the cycle of poverty. And that matters to families and all of us in the community.

We are committed to mobilizing the caring power of our community and fueling the innovative spirit of the Triangle that has helped this region grow. We believe that together we all can create a powerful force for change and a legacy of achievement for generations to come.

Our Community Action Plan includes:

Changing Generations:  Pathways to Progress for Families and Children:  A two-generational approach of supporting and building – not just funding – collaborative partnerships that help create, scale and sustain solutions that foster self-determination and generational success for children and their families together.
