This portion of our website is dedicated to helping Triangle-based nonprofits discover free and low cost technology resources available to them. If you have suggestions for additions, or know of other technology-related resources for nonprofits in the Triangle, please email us.

All recipients of T4T equipment receive a Nonprofit Technology Resource Guide created by T4T. This guide is full of computer how-to articles, local free and discounted computing resources, technology planning worksheets and even a technology terms glossary. Now, we're making this great resource available online.

Local Resources

Teaming for Technology has worked with all of these agencies and we highly recommend you take advantage of their services to meet your organization's needs.

RTPnet is a volunteer-based, 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization, incorporated to promote the electronic communication of information of public interest to and among the general public, including educating the public by use of computer communications. For only a $60 annual membership fee, nonprofits receive web hosting, email lists, web forums, and remote data storage. Their website is packed full of great technical resources and information for nonprofits.

The Centers for Quality Teaching and Learning is the resource for you if you are interested in getting technology in your school. According to their website, "Working closely with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, the North Carolina General Assembly, and the North Carolina business community, The Centers for Quality Teaching and Learning developed a nationally recognized model that takes schools from wiring projects, to curriculum developmet, to hands-on learning."

The Centers for Quality Teaching and Learning has excellent programs and curricula available for middle and high school aged students interested in technology.

Web Resources

BOBBY is a tool designed to make sure your website is accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities or users with different connection devices and speeds. As a nonprofit agency, it is absolutely essential that your website meet these standards. In fact, Section 508 of the Federal Government states that all federal websites be accessible to the disabled, including blind and deaf individuals who are using special software to access the web.

Deafvision offers free web hosting for nonprofits serving the deaf community.

CNET Networks, Inc. is the world's leading source of information and services for buyers, sellers and suppliers of technology.

Groundspring (formerly eGrants) aims to grow nonprofits with Internet tools and training.

NC Neighbors allows you to create and edit your nonprofit group's web page for FREE.

Progressive Tech's grant making activities are designed to help community organizing groups support and develop strategic uses of technology that strengthen their ability to affect change in their communities and beyond.

StatCountex is a statistics reporting application that collects data from visitors of your website and stores it into an Access database.

Tech Soup is a comprehensive source of technology information just for nonprofit organizations.

  • The Microsoft Donated Computer Operating System (DCOS) Program enables nonprofit organizations that receive computers without Windows operating systems to obtain them through TechSoup Stock.
