TRIANGLE UNITED WAY ROLLS OUT THE RED
CARPET TO HONOR PHILANTHROPY

MORRISVILLE - Triangle United Way (TUW) honored companies who helped support their annual campaign by taking a cue from the Academy Awards and held its own ‘Academy of Caring.” Guests were greeted by the flashing lights of the paparazzi as they stepped off the elevator and made their way down the red carpet. The crowd of 200 was entertained by the Nic Slaton Trio. Time Warner Raleigh President and 2006 Campaign Chairman Tom Adams and Triangle United Way President and CEO Craig Chancellor served as c0-masters of ceremonies.

Thirty-three awards were presented to honor companies and individuals volunteerism and philanthropy in helping raise $18 million for the Triangle United Way including $10.8 for the Community Care Fund. Top winners of the evening received Chairman’s Awards of Excellence including: Rex Healthcare (Best Overall Performance), WakeMed Health & Hospitals (Employee Education and Volunteerism), SunTrust Banks (Employee Campaign Performance), and The Redwoods Group (Corporate Support and Involvement). The Chairman's Award Series is the highest recognition TUW bestows upon select companies across Durham, Orange and Wake counties for extraordinary success in supporting community health and human service needs by conducting workplace fundraising and volunteer service activities.
