MORRISVILLE-- Carrier, the world leader in air conditioning, heating and refrigeration solutions is bringing some cool relief to those in need. The company is donating over one thousand window air conditioner units to cities across the country experiencing sizzling temperatures as part of its second annual “Operation Heat Rescue” project. The relief effort covers nine markets: Philadelphia, Raleigh, New York, Atlanta, St. Louis, Phoenix, Dallas, Indianapolis and Chicago.
Temperatures soared in Raleigh during the first week in August, making it feel over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. To help people battle the heat, Carrier is donating 125 air conditioners to keep residents of Raleigh and surrounding areas cool.
“With the success of Operation Heat Rescue last year, we felt we should continue to support local communities with the resources we have to help keep them cool, comfortable and healthy as they ride out the oppressive heat waves this summer,” said Johnny Johnson, Carrier Brand Manager. “Our company has a long tradition of giving back to the community, and it makes us feel good to know that we’ve been able to help senior citizens, people with disabilities and low-income families with this project.”
News 14 Carolina has teamed up with the effort, choosing The Triangle United Way, to be the recipients of the air conditioners. This contribution will help ensure families in need in Raleigh and the surrounding areas stay cool the remainder of summer.
Carrier is donating its FCB Series window air conditioners. The units offer convenient thru-the-wall or window installation. They are quiet and provide reliable comfort for rooms that are 100-400 square feet in size. The units are valued at $125 each.
