Triangle Martin Luther King Jr., Day of Service

Signature Projects

Defining Signature Projects

These Signature projects will be conducted on Monday, January 19, and will be the capstone for a myriad of smaller projects that will be conducted throughout the region during the entire 3-day weekend. The goal is to ignite the spirit of the community by providing a quality experience for volunteers of all ages, who will be engaged in service projects that will hopefully create lasting results across the Triangle region.

The Signature project must include the following components:

  • Connect partners in communities, in ways that uplift targeted youth.
  • Engage the assets of the community (schools, agencies, neighborhoods etc.)
  • Unite people from different neighborhoods, socioeconomic groups, racial backgrounds, or cultures.
  • Ensure the participation of different groups.
  • Provide opportunity for follow up activities that would keep people engaged after the day of service is completed.
  • Include opening and closing ceremonies that tribute to Dr. King.
