Investing in maternal health is a win-win situation for individuals and communities. Women experiencing poverty face higher risks of maternal mortality but communities that invest in maternal health have found that those investments not only improve a mother’s health and that of her family, they also increase the number of women in the workforce and promote the economic well-being of the entire community.

Join us on Friday, January 21 for Maternal Health Unwrapped, a virtual conversation that explores local nonprofits working to address maternal health disparities in the Triangle and why it’s important for all residents to advocate for systemic changes in support of birthing people in our communities.

Panelists:

• Joy Spencer, Executive Director, Equity Before Birth

• Maya Jackson, Executive Director, MAAME, INC.
