Young Leader Society: Community Impact
The Young Leaders Society is pleased to announce the launching of their College Awareness Program (CAP)! This program, designed to increase the awareness and accessibility of a college education, emerged out of the understanding that many local youth have limited exposure to many colleges and universities within the Triangle and beyond.

In conjunction with United Way partner agencies, YLS members and volunteers unite to provide this opportunity to many promising youth, most of whom will be first generation college graduates. In 2009 YLS members partnered with the Durham Performance Learning Center and sponsored the fall tour to NC State University, Shaw University and Louisburg College.
As the program grows, YLS members hope to partner with two-three agencies and underwrite scheduled tours for youth participating in their programs.
