Women's Leadership Council

The Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) is a group of women who are committed to improving people’s lives and creating lasting change. Formed in 2003, WLC members support United Way of the Greater Triangle’s efforts to build stronger communities for the betterment of women now and for future generations by:
- Learning about and getting involved in the issues and challenges facing people in our community.
- Investing in quality programs, supported by United Way of the Greater Triangle, that positively impact the lives of people and our community
Lisa Cade, 2012 Chair, believes that one should – “Never doubt that a small groupof committed citizens can change the world; indeed, its the only thing that ever has”, a quote from Margaret Mead.
The WLC mission is to inspire, celebrate, educate, and engage women in philanthropy and community service to positively impact lives.
Young Teen Girls, ages 11 -15, are experiencing a tremendous urge for acceptance by their peers and distance from supervision. As a part of its mission, WLC is working hard to increase awareness about the issues facing middle school girls.
