Triangle United Way Hosts a Day of Action in Orange County

Tossing lettuce and adding fixings to create a gourmet salad, is how Triangle United Way volunteers, celebrated the Day of Action in Orange County. Volunteers from the Women’s Leadership Council, and the African American Leadership Initiative worked with The Women’s Center Teen’s Climb High Program in Chapel Hill, on a nutritional cook-off. The event was facilitated by Carol Barrow, chef and author of “Caroleena’s Tuscan Kitchen: Culinary Confessions of an American Countessa”.
Held on June 21 - the longest day of the year- United Ways across the country participated in a nationwide Day of Action to encourage volunteerism. With more daylight hours than any other, it was the perfect day to let your actions speak louder than words. It was a great way to show, by example, what it means to
