The 2007 Point-In-Time Count, a one-night regional count of homeless individuals done annually, found 1,806 homeless individuals across the Triangle including 501 individuals in families including children.

Contributions to the Triangle United Way Community Care Fund helped the Milberry family (pictured above) to overcome homelessness and have a fresh start. 19,225 others received assistance with utilities, rent, food, housing, employment, and case management services in order to prevent homelessness. Genesis Home, a United Way member agency, provided the comprehensive services that the Milberry's needed to create real, lasting change for their family.
