Rex Healthcare and Blue Cross and Blue Shield Recognized with Spirit of NC Awards

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC)and Rex Healthcare were recognized with Spirit of North Carolina Awards for Campaign Excellence at the 2007 United Way of North Carolina Annual Meeting in Pinehurst. The awards honor outstanding commitment and support to communities through local United Way involvement by companies and their employees.

BCBSNC received the Employee Spirit Award for Business Campaign.

Rex Healthcare won the Employee Spirit Award for the Hospital/Health System category.

Highlights of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Campaign:

Held a 'Blue Idol Competition' patterned after American Idol.
Created our own matching incentive program that encouraged employees to consider donating at the Leadership Level.
Strong communications campaign utilizing customized thermometers, published articles, plasma screens, banners and other materials.

Highlights of the Rex Healthcare Campaign:

Over 12 special events were held during their campaign kickoff, including Rex Fear Factor and a Bedpan Challenge.
Held a Leadership Giving Campaign.
Conducted Day of Caring volunteer events at member agencies.
Participated in the Lunch and Learn Program.
