Tocqueville Society Hosts Educational Events for Leadership Professionals
Members of the Triangle United Way Tocqueville Society recently received insight about access to healthcare and United Way's role in fighting domestic violence. Two events were held recently to discuss challenges facing the Triangle region and to introduce local professionals to the Tocqueville Society.
Guest speaker Dr. Victor Dzau, chancellor for Health Affairs at Duke University, shared his perspectives on improving access to healthcare and reducing the shortage of healthcare and science professionals, as well as future challenges facing the nation. Special thanks to Tocqueville Society members Fred Hutchison of Hutchison Law Group and Triangle United Way board member Monica Doss of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development for hosting the luncheon.
A breakfast program for attorneys was held at the Cardinal Club in Raleigh. Managing Partners of Triangle law firms and other lawyers met to learn more about Triangle United Way’s work in Durham, Orange and Wake counties.
Triangle United Way President and CEO Craig Chancellor spoke to the group about growth in the Triangle and the resulting increase in people who need support to successfully overcome challenges in their lives. Interact Executive Director Adam Hartzell, who is also an attorney, discussed Triangle United Way's role in the programs offered by his agency to help victims of domestic violence.
Special thanks to Tocqueville Society members Kelly and Tim Biltz who underwrote the luncheon and Womble Carlyle and the Cardinal Club who underwrote the cost of the breakfast.
