Employees at Nationwide have really embraced the philanthropic philosophy that runs deep within their company. Over the last ten years, through their partnership with the Triangle United Way, Nationwide employees have demonstrated quality, commitment, innovation and excellence in facilitating their campaigns.

The 2007 efforts, supported by active executive leadership and a dynamic campaign committee paved the way for a model campaign as employees engaged in summer-long special event and educational activities that promoted the Triangle United Way’s mission of improving lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities.

To name a few, employees participated in softball, bowling and golf tournaments, a chili cook-off and a petwash. Additionally, employees attended several summertime educational days, the campaign kickoff event, a silent auction and talent show before and/or after they concluded their campaign in the fall.

As a result, they experienced a 23% overall increase from their 2006 efforts, an 89% increase in total Community Care Fund dollars raised, and an overall increase in employee participation and leadership donors.

Overall, it was the energy, zeal, dedication, creativity and personal donations of hundreds of Nationwide employees that made the difference. The community will experience the impact of their generosity for years to come!
