Campaign Central
Happy Ending Campaign
As your company tours agencies, conducts volunteer events and listens to agency speakers, have them write about their experiences on a Happy Ending Journal sheet. The sheets should reflect what the person learned at the event and how their support of Triangle United Way is making a difference in our community. After each event, compile the sheets to create your company’s Happy Ending Journal.
At the end of your campaign, submit your journal in the Happy Endings contest. Journals will be judged by 2007 Campaign Chair J.R. Shearin who will choose entries for a publication to be produced at the end of the campaign. First, Second and Third places will be awarded to companies for the best journal.
In addition to the contest:
- Use the sheets to spur discussion with participants following the event.
- Use sheets to share the experience with employees not able to participate.
- Share the sheets with staff as part of your campaign to show employees the power of their gift. Post them around the office in addition to campaign posters.
Tips
- Make a copy of the journal entries.-Compile one copy for the contest and use the other sheets as part of your campaign.
- Include photos to bring the stories to life.
- Encourage employees to submit more than one entry whenever suitable.
- Identify people within your company who have been helped by United Way funded programs and services and have them share their stories so employees submit an entry sheet on them.
- Award a prize to the department who submits the most entries.
- Host your own Happy Endings Journal Campaign and have departments or individuals submit their own journals.
- Use the close of your campaign as the deadline for journal
- submissions from employees.
