Facts about Donor Designations

Fact

Triangle United Way's focus for achieving impact is the Community Care Fund. This fund is comprised of contributions that are not designated to specific agencies. The dollars are invested in local programs that improve lives and achieve measurable results.

Fact

Triangle United Way will honor donors' designations to their favorite nonprofit charities, including Member and non-Member agencies. A list of additional giving options (non-Members) is included in the Contributor's Guide and at www.unitedwaytriangle.org for the convenience of the donor. It is not necessary to be listed to receive designations. Donors may write in their favorite nonprofit charity in the space provided on the fundraising campaign pledge card.

Fact

A minimum designation of $50 per donor per agency has been established.

Fact

Agencies receive a list of donor names and addresses (if donors have given permission) along with the amount of the designation. This list cannot be provided to recipient agencies until companies conducting workplace campaigns provide the names and addresses to Triangle United Way, usually about six months after the end of the campaign.
