Designated Gift Policy
In 2004, the policy to minimize costs of processing designations was implemented.
Designations less than $50 per agency will automatically go to the Community Care Fund.
Every gift matters. Because this is true, it is even more critical for Triangle United Way to be efficient in administering donor gifts. The designation policy ensures that more of each contribution reaches programs, services, and the people who need them.
In 2004, there were more than 2,700 agencies receiving designations.
Agencies receive a list of donor names and addresses for donors who have asked to be acknowledged along with the amount of the designation. This list cannot be mailed to agencies until companies conducting workplace campaigns provide the names and addresses to Triangle United Way.
Your best way to have the greatest impact in our community is to give to Triangle United Way's Community Care Fund. This gift accomplishes more because it enables trained volunteers and experts to apply your generous gift to the services, programs and initiatives that will make the biggest difference in improving lives.
