Campaign Highlights

Black & Veatch Chili Cook-off

Kelly Moody's southwestern chicken chili won the Black & Veatch Chili Cook-off. The event raised $130 for the Triangle United Way Community Care Campaign.

Black & Veatch's 2nd Annual Chili Cook-off was a great success. Many people came to enjoy the chili entries and judge for themselves. The contest was officially judged by the building café's owner, Ed Shultz. The winner was Kelly Moody, who won for her southwestern chicken chili. This is the second year that a chili cook-off has been held as a campaign activity with all proceeds going towards the Triangle United Way Community Care Fund.

The chili cost was $1 for a taste, $3 for a bowl, or $5 for all-you-can-eat. Participants brought their chili from home in crock-pots and Black & Veatch contributed sides of sour cream, shredded cheese, and paper goods. The proceeds topped $130 and will go towards the total Black & Veatch United Way contribution. Blue jean days and weekly raffles are also a part of this year's campaign.
