AALI Jazz Splash

Ronald Wiley, president and chief executive officer of Mechanics and Farmers Bank(left), poses with AALI Co-Chairs Lori Jones-Gibbs and Kenneth Gibbs at the Jazz Splash Event.

The African-American Leadership Initiative (AALI) held a Philanthropic Caribbean Jazz Splash Celebration to educate and engage young professionals to become involved with Triangle United Way. The event was held at the Woodcroft Swim Club in Durham.

Husband and wife team Kenneth Gibbs and Lori Jones-Gibbs lead AALI as co-chairs in their first term. The two are working with a team of volunteers from Durham, Orange and Wake counties. Their goal is to recruit 60 new AALI donors this year. Since 1999, AALI members have contributed over $200,000 to support local health and human service programs through the Triangle United Way Community Care Fund.

Special thanks to event sponsors Genworth Financial, Budweiser and Oenophilia.
