By now, you may have seen our “give 5″ video, that shows the power of even a small donation to United Way of the Greater Triangle. Every dollar donated to UWGT can be leveraged into many more dollars for the greater good.
This short (one minute and twenty seconds) video is our way of challenging the viewer to consider forgoing that morning latte and donating the five dollars to United Way instead. Five dollars to you or me isn’t a whole heck of a lot of money, and I struggle to think what good I could actually accomplish for the Triangle with such a nominal amount by myself. However, when that five dollars is donated through United Way, the value increases several times over.
Whether it is the almost 52,000 prescriptions that were filled for patients without health insurance, the 36,000 victims of domestic violence that received counseling and shelter, or the fifteen million pounds of food that were distributed in 2011, every dollar given to United Way goes toward meaningful change. United Way can take my small five dollar donation and combine it with others to affect real and lasting change for the 1 in 3 in the Triangle who utilize a service from United Way of the Greater Triangle or its partner agencies.
Now, I challenge you to take just a quick break and watch this video. After you see it, of course we would love for you to make a donation.
